Whelp, I haven’t posted in a while. I’ve been really busy with school and experimenting a bit. I think I will be running this blog as more of a journal style from now on, and in addition I will post random funny things from the internet I happen to stumble across while vigorously masturbating.
In other news, I have started a new niche site as an SEO project. My current approach with this is to do some article marketing, and with each article I write I submit it to onlywire to generate some link juice. I will be spinning each article to submit to multiple sites. Currently I am only using ezine articles but I will be posting to others once I have more content to distribute.
I am no longer writing for anyone or trying to. It’s fucking horrifically boring to write 1000 words about car insurance, or acai berries, or diabetes or whatever the fuck and then get paid a penny per word so some other affiliate marketer can have content to make hundreds of dollars with on their site. Plus it is simply not worth the time and I can’t compete with the prices people will work for in India. Seriously.
I also ran my first PPC campaigns on facebook and google. Google was a flop, for some reason it took FOREVER to get my ads approved, and then I got hardly any impressions. I paused that shit but I still have a $100 credit so I will be getting back at it in the next couple days since I’ve used up my facebook budget for the week. The facebook campaign was more interesting. I ran one absolutely ridiculous offer from clickbank just to see what would happen. I expected to get no conversions and lose money but figured I would learn something and it would be worth it. Against all odds, I had a sale in the first ten minutes which led me to jump up and down fanatically and do a lot of fist pumping while yelling “YES!” At the end of the day the campaign was (not surprisingly) negative, but it was still pretty dope to break my cherry and get a sale.
Then I tried a dating offer which I got one conversion for but facebook was being totally lame about the whole thing. I got an atrocious CTR and couldn’t get any impressions. It was very frustrating and I got kinda pissed. I’m having trouble figuring out how to target users for dating. Everyone wants to be laid and date right? Is targeting a keyword like “hockey” going to render a better conversion rate than “unix”? I really don’t know what the fuck to do with this so until I do some more research I’ve decided not to waste any more dough.
I’ve got finals this week and then I have some time off to devote to this so I will be getting busy and trying to catch some last minute Christmas shoppers hopefully. That’s all for now, folks.

I see a lot of posts on forums and around the ‘ net about how a lot of noobs trying to get started making money online spend way too much time reading e-books and trolling forums. I don’t really get this at all. I did a lot of reading and research before diving in, but you have to be able to recognize that very early in you will reach a point where reading is not going to help you out any more. When I realized this it was horrible, at first. I felt like any more time spent researching was essentially a waste, and that I had read so much that I had all sorts of stuff bouncing around in my head and didn’t know where to start. It all felt overwhelming.
If you spend, or have already spent, more than 8 weeks, maximum, researching before diving in you’re wasting a lot of time. The thing to remember is that when you are starting out even a failed campaign or attempt is worthwhile for the experience gained. Plus, if any of that research you’ve done was actually meaningful then hopefully your first attempt should garner some degree of success.
Another nice thing to do is go try something once or twice, see what kind of results you can get, and then see if you can get someone else to pay you for it. This is a good way to go if you’re feeling overwhelmed because
- You get paid. ‘Nuff said.
- If someone else is willing to pay you to do it, you must be doing something right. It feels good to get some positive reinforcement early on and to be able to know fairly certainly that you are on the right track.
- You get paid. This means you have money for servers and other expenses that you don’t have to pay out of pocket, which means instead of starting your business in the hole you’re starting out ahead of the game.
This shit is going to make you feel overwhelmed at first because it is – running a website is a lot of work. You have to manage content, advertising, SEO, and obviously figure out how you’re going to monetize that bitch. The key is that if you don’t roll the dice there’s no way you’re going to get a piece of the action so you have to just dive in and try something at some point. So quit readin’ and go make some money.

Getting money on the internet is a funny thing. When you first start investigating it, it seems like everyone who’s doing it is getting paid to sleep in ’til noon, smoke weed, watch TV, bang out a few hours of work and then go back to sleep. Who wouldn’t want to live a life like that?
Once you start trying to see one of those checks for yourself, though, everything suddenly looks a lot harder. A million factors go into running a website: You need content. You need SEO. You need design, code, SQL databases, and a whole bunch of other stuff I bet you never heard of before. All of a sudden getting that internet cash is looking a whole lot more like actual work. The thing to do when you get as far as this rude awakening is to take a step back, revise your original game plan, break it down into sections, and then utilize some solid time management skills to put it all into practice. I mean, you COULD spend 100% of your time on SEO – but people will be bouncing out of your site like WHOA if you don’t have any content there to keep them around. I won’t go so far as to say all these things are equally important, but I will say that none of them can be neglected. So manage your time like its your money.
Anyway, the subject at hand is where to look if you’re lost. The answer is: the buy / sell section of whatever forum you spend too much time trolling. Look at what people are buying and see if you can do whatever service it is for your own site. Not only can you find some great ideas, but you also get great reviews on how effective a certain action really is. Clearly you should be using this to your advantage, just as I am. This is a great way to find effective SEO techniques, for example. In some forums you’ll get better ideas in the buy / sell section than the section dedicated to the topic you were researching in the first place. So, take this noob tip of the day, and prevail! Good luck, fellow noobs.

Well damn I know this site has only been up for like a day but shouldn’t someone be paying me for this by now? I read like 1/2 of an e-book about making money online and it said I would be kickin back on a private island getting fanned by fly bitches with leaves from palm trees by now – AND drinking a mojito.
Affiliate marketing is not as easy as everybody said it wouldn’t be. But still these motherfuckers keep posting screen shots of all their winnings in forums, mocking me, while I sit here reading crappy e-books. Well I’m not actually reading any e-books, I’m mostly just trolling forums and such. I’m also trying a thing here, another there, trying to get something up and running. I’m a noob at this but I’m leet at internet so who knows where this is gonna go.
If you’re a noob like me, I’m gonna go ahead and say the best thing you can do is to also read as much as possible and troll forums until you kinda sorta feel like you almost have a fucking clue – then just put what you think you know into action in some small way, and you’ll start to realize you still don’t know shit. But the point is you can only read so many e-books, and unless some dude is paying you to read, you’re fucked.
